A section of City MCAs have accused Governor Anne Kananu and her senior officers of running the County from “Hotels and Brothels”.
Speaking while storming Kananu’s office over delayed salaries, the reps said
CEC for finance Allan Igambi should be fired.
They accused him of delaying salaries.
After storming Igambi’s office, the reps then walked to Kananu’s office.
Both officers were not in office.
The MCAs said both Igambi and Kananu are unable to serve Nairobi efficiently due to “alcohol and frequent partying”.
Led by nominated ODM MCA Mary Arivisa, the over thirty Reps told the Media that Allan Igambi is the signatory together with Kananu and that they are refusing to sign the salary for reasons best known to them.
“One of these Igambi’s aides has told us that Governor Kananu instructed Igambi not to release our two months’ salary. That is why he has disappeared from office for over two weeks,” said one of the angered MCAs.
It was later established that Kananu had escaped through back door to avoid the angry res.
The MCAs called on President Uhuru Kenyatta’s intervention to restore order and have their salaries and those of other County staff paid.
“Some of these workers have families that depend on them, I don’t see any reason why there should be continued delay of salaries every now and then, scandal after scandal at City Hall because of two people,” said Arivisa.
They added that making Kananu the Governor of Nairobi- was a mistake they regret.
