Nairobi MCAs led by the chairperson of the Labor and Social welfare committee Allan Maina are probing how a 10-acre piece of land was grabbed from the elderly.
The Land, located in Mji Wa Huruma borders Karura Forest and Runda Estate.
Maina who is also the ward representative for Dandora Area I, said the land which was initially 17 acres has left the vulnerable senior citizens with only 7 acres.
He said 7 acres is not enough for their operations.
“The occupants of the 10 acres will be summoned to this committee and tell us how they acquired the land. We expect them to bring their original documents of ownership before we take action,” MCA Maina said.
He said they are planning to fence the area since most of the elderly people are facing hostility from the neighbors.
