Nairobi elected Members of the County Assembly left the swearing-in ceremony of Governor Johnson Sakaja on Thursday alleging that they cannot share a podium with President elect William Ruto.
They said Ruto’s supporters have had a tendency of referring to him as President elect yet the court proceedings were not yet concluded.
They said they will work with Sakaja harmoniously but won’t accept anything to do with President elect William Ruto.
The legislators led by Makongeni MCA Peter Imwatok claimed being sidelined as their seats were not reserved.
“Sakaja sent a blind invitation that didn’t disclose attendees, our President elect is Raila Amolo Odinga and the only one who we can share a podium with,” Imwatok said.
