Several City MCAs have termed Governor Johnson Sakaja as an “enemy of education” for failing to release funds meant for bursaries that were to go to vulnerable children.
They raised fears that sh 857 million in bursary funds allocated for the education of vulnerable children in the county might have been plundered.
Led by Gatina Ward MCA Kennedy Swaka and his Korogocho counterpart Absalom Odhiambo, they said the cash was allocated in the 2023/2024 budget.
“The oversight and delay in releasing these funds has inconvenienced many students,” MCA Odhiambo said.
