Former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo has told off Deputy President William Ruto over his 2022 campaigns.
Ruto wants to take over from President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2022 and has been going round the Country asking several regions and communities to support him.
Speaking during the burial ceremony of Musician John De Mathew in Gatanga, Kabogo said its only ODM leader Raila Odinga and DP William Ruto who can “cool down” the rising political temperatures.
He blamed Ruto for politicking at the expense of serving Kenyans. Kabogo said Ruto is derailing development.
“DP we really love you but please cool down. Relax about 2022,” Kabogo said.
Before inviting Peter Kenneth to address the mourners- Kabogo sarcastically said, “Lets invite Peter Kenneth then return the microphone to politicians,”
Kabogo has always blamed Ruto for “rigging him out” during the Jubilee Primaries in 2017 elections.
He said he will make a comeback in politics.
However, DP Ruto downplayed Kabogos remarks and said that Kabogo was simply being mischievous and cheeky.
“People forget that I was sworn in as the Principal Assistant to President Uhuru Kenyatta. They forget this fact and equate me to me to the jobless (Raila Odinga). If Jubilee and Uhuru’s job is stuck, it’s me they will ask,” he said.
He said that he hasn’t been politicking but has been busy implementing the Jubilee agenda and helping the president.
He said that he still supports President Uhuru Kenyatta.
“We want to end tribalism and make Kenya one Country,” Ruto said.
