Students from the Kenya Institute of Management (KIM) have issued a notice to the management that they will be on strike on Tuesday morning.
They said the current administration is “oppressive”.
The students said they will march in the streets of Nairobi until their grievances are addressed.
The students said talks between them and the Administration have hit a dead end.
The students told Hot News that some of their lecturers abscond classes.
They asked the management to sack Nairobi Branch Manager Peter Njoroge.
They accused Njoroge of mistreating lecturers and other members of staff.
Speaking on condition of anonymity for fear of being victimized, a student said that Njoroge has been demanding between shs 2,500 and shs 3,000 before he issues exam results to students.
However, Njoroge did not comment on the allegations.
By the time of going to press, Njoroge had not responded to our questions if indeed it’s true that he asks for money from students.
The students were led by their Secretary General Gordon Naya who said they are tired of “KIMs Impunity”.
“Njoroge has been sly and doesn’t reply our mails. He has been mishandling the staff and students. This must come to an end and he must leave office. Yesterday he slapped a girl who wanted results from his office,” said Naya.
He said an argument ensued when the girl demanded her results and refused to part with shs 3,000.
Naya asked the Education Ministry to intervene.
