Nairobi’s Matopeni MCA Abdi Guyo is being sought by the police to record a statement over the chaos that erupted at City Hall on Wednesday.
Chaos erupted when Guyo and a section of Jubilee MCA’s attempted to block Speaker Beatrice Elachi from accessing the Assembly.
Elachi was impeached in 2018 by MCA’s.
She was reinstated by the court but latter barred from accessing City Hall by a section of Jubilee MCA’s led by Guyo.
On Wednesday evening, Elachi went to the Central police station and recorded a statement over the chaos.
Property worth millions was damaged during the chaos.
There were broken seats, tab les and flower vessels.
Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko wants Guyo replaced as the Jubilee Majority leader for undermining his leadership.
Elachi also accused Guyo of disrespecting women.
This is after Guyo reportedly asked her to “go have sex with former Prime Minister Raila Odinga”.
Guyo told Hot News “I have nothing to say” when Hot News contacted him for comment.
On Thursday, Guyo addressed a rally in Eastleigh area where he said he is innocent and that his life is in danger.
An MCA who requested anonymity said that the County Assembly had withdrawn Guyo’s official car and security.
“The Clerk Jacob Ngwele was away in India when the chaos errupted. However, he has a deputy Ada Awuor who is supposed to record a statement with the Police, “said the MCA.
