Kibra MP Ken Okoth is responding well to cancer treatment in Paris France.
His colleagues and friends led by Westlands MP Tim Wanyonyi have assured Kibra constituents.
Westlands MP Tim Wanyonyi stood in for him on Saturday and Sunday.
Wanyonyi issued bursary cheques to students from Kibra ahead of the opening of schools for the second term.
“Your MP Ken Okoth is alright. We toured various destinations with him during Easter when I visited him. He is doing well. He will be coming home soon. He asked me to pass his regards to all of you,” Wanyonyi told Kibra residents in Sarangombe ward on Sunday.
On Saturday, at least 1,400 secondary, college and University students from Makina and Lindi wards were issued with bursaries.
On Sunday 1,600 bursaries were issued to students from Sarangombe Ward at Olympic Primary school grounds.
Wanyonyi commended Okoth for exemplary leadership skills that have improved education standards in Kibra Constituency.
He said education helps alleviate poverty.
“Education is the best inheritance you can give your children,” he said.
He asked the parents to deposit the cheques immediately to enhance easy accountability by Kibra CDF.
Kibra CDF has distributed a total of shs 32 Million bursary funds to more than 7,000 students this term.
Each ward was allocated 1,300 bursaries.
Secondary, College and University students each received kshs 5,000.
