Nairobi Woman Rep Esther Passaris is dreaming and salivating for the Nairobi Governors seat.
Passaris website is under construction.
The Seat is currently being held by flamboyant Governor Mike Sonko.
However, political analysts say it’s too early for one candidate to declare interests in the seat since there are many dynamics and they may change.
Many politicians are eyeing the Governor’s seat.
Political analyst Onchari Oyieyo dismissed Passaris candidature.
Onchari said Passaris does not stand a chance.
“She simply wants to raise her stakes. ODM won’t even give her the woman rep ticket again. She is simply looking for a bargaining chip. She soiled her name and has lost favor with the electorate,” Onchari said.
In 2013, she ran for Nairobi women rep on the Kenya National Congress (KNC) ticket.
She lost to Rachel Shebesh.
City resident Mike Maina said the next governor of Nairobi will be determined by the outcome of the Building Bridges Initiative and if the Country will hold a referendum.
Maina said if President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga work together in 2022, then it will be a “tall order” for some candidates.
He added that if President Uhuru Kenyatta works with Deputy President William Ruto and Raila is in a different political wing- then some candidate will “never see City Hall”.
Maina added that those candidates “wishing away” Sonko as a “passing cloud” are misadvised.
“Sonko has good mobilization skills and he is the incumbent. His grass root support cannot be challenged. He will definitely trounce his opponents who think he is a walk over,” Maina said.
