The National Chamber of Commerce President Richard Ngatia on Wednesday hosted City reps at a local Hotel.
Ngatia sought the reps help to clinch the Governors seat in the August elections.
During the meeting, he told the reps that he “has the interests of City residents at heart and that he will improve service delivery”.
More than 50 reps attended the meeting.
When pictures of the meeting surfaced online, several online users labelled some “MCAs as traitors”.
Those labeled as traitors were MCA’s from Westlands Constituency led by Kitusuru’s Alvin Olando Palapala , Parklands Jayendra Malde and Mt View Maurice Ochieng.
Supporters of outgoing Westlands MP Tim Wanyonyi who also wants to be Nairobi Governor said the Westland’s reps had “betrayed him”.
Other ODM reps who attended were also labeled “traitors”.
However, speaking to Hot News, the reps said they will support Ngatia because he has demonstrated to them that he is a “team player” and ready to work with all the residents of Nairobi.
“I will serve all the residents equally and diligently. Regardless of their tribe, religion, or political affiliation. They all deserve descent services, “Ngatia told the reps.
