City Reps from the Kenya Kwanza Coalition on Friday accused Governor Johnson Sakaja of undermining his Party UDA.
The reps went ahead to boycott an afternoon session that was meant to approve several Chief Officers who had been vetted.
The Special session had been called by Speaker Ken Ngondi.
The reps dared Sakaja to try seeking re-election in the next election saying he will be floored.
“If he thinks he was voted by Azimio-let him go to an election and we see if he will win! He will lose even an MCA election,” they chanted.
Led by Waithaka Ward Rep Antony Kiragu, they vowed to petition UDA and the Kenya Kwanza Coalition to take disciplinary action against the City Governor.
They accused the Governor of nominating members of the Azimio Coalition to his Cabinet at the expense of loyal Party Members who they said deserve the appointments.
“Sakaja has sidelined us –he has betrayed us. We will kick him out. Today’s special sitting is an illegality and we will not take part, we are leaving it to Azimio,” Kiragu said.
They said some of the Chief Officers who were vetted and approved are “criminals”.
They are opposed to the appointment of Lucky Ogutu as Chief Officer for Energy and Lighting.
They said Ogutu started chaos at the BOMAS of Kenya during the Presidential Results announcement in September.
