Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has appointed Justus Kathenge as the acting County Secretary.
In a letter dated February 19th, Sonko replaced long serving acting County secretary Leboo Ole Morintat.
Leboo is the Chief Officer for Public Service Management.
He remains the Deputy County Secretary and Chief officer Public Service Management while Kathenge still serves as the chief officer Urban Planning.
Leboo, who is one of the most experienced employees at City Hall, took over as the acting County Secretary last year and it is only until last week that the Governor made realignments from his Upper Hill private offices.
Sonko appointed Kathenge to be the acting county secretary pending the nomination and vetting of the new county secretary later this year.
He said Leboo remains one of the most resourceful and reliable servants to the people of Nairobi.
“He is an inspiration to the young staff at City Hall. The Governor wants to assure Nairobians that county offices remain open and day-to-day services are ongoing in all departments. Kindly feel free to visit any of our offices for service and do not shy away from reporting any attempts by our staff to drag services” said Sonko’s communication Director Elkana Jacob.
