Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has said that he is happy with increased deliveries at Pumwani Maternity Hospital.
In a facebook post, Sonko said there is increased public confidence in County Hospitals after the County carried out a facelift of the hospitals.
He said there are 90 to 110 newborns daily at Pumwani Hospital.
“There are very rare occurrences of deaths except for still births” he said.
He said its City Halls Policy that all Health facilities should admit all pregnant women even if the beds are full.
He added that in the next 72 days, Mbagathi county hospital will be in the same status as Pumani.
“We have also put efforts to ensure our new 4 storeyed block under construction is complete and open to the public within the next 45 days. Mutuini hospital in Dagoreti and all our sub county hospitals shall also undergo a similar facelift in the next few weeks.” he said.
