Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has lauded City MCAs for abandoning their plans to impeach him.
Posting on his facebook, Sonko said he is delighted with the resolution by the Nairobi City County Assembly members to cooperate with hi administration and the National Government.
He said the cooperation will ensure they have enhanced and uninterrupted service delivery to Nairobi residents.
“The Nairobi City County Government will work hand in hand with President Uhuru Kenyatta’s administration to ensure we deliver on our promises to City residents,” he said.
On Saturday, at least 115 MCAs were summoned to State House by President Uhuru Kenyatta and urged not to support the impeachment motion.
The mover of the motion, Makongeni MCA Peter Imwatok has insisted that he will not withdraw the motion.
However, Imwatok will be left to “walk alone” if he doesn’t drop the motion.
