Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has thanked the Kenya Pipeline Company for helping build a shs 38 million maternity hospital in Mareba, Lunga Lunga , Viwandani area of Industrial area.
He said the Hospital is complete.
“Kenya Pipeline Corporation (KPC) through their MD Hudson Adambi pledged to contribute shs 20m and my administration shs 18m towards this initiative. Today I am happy to report to the public that through our joint supervision, the project is now complete and just awaiting installation of maternity equipment’s,” Sonko said.
He told Hot News the project will be launched soon.
Sonko said the facility will serve thousands of Viwandani ward mothers and neighboring communities.
He also rejoiced that his administration has completed construction of Mbagath hospital new maternity wing.
“The New look Mbagathi outpatient Services with a modern testing laboratory,” he said.
He said the Mbagathi Hospital new maternity wing has helped decongest the facility.
“Well, today we are happy to announce that the 66-bed capacity maternity wing that my administration fully renovated is functioning well with doctors reporting resumption of normalcy at the busy Mbagathi Hospital,” he said.
However, the facility was handed over to KNH and it is being used as the new isolation center for Covid-19 patients.
He said his administration has also completed the new modern outpatient wing, a modern testing laboratory and a rental unit which are now fully operational.
