The County Government of Taita Taveta has started grading and putting murram on all its roads.
The murram is being excavated by the department of Public Works at the County quarry in Mwatate.
It will be spread on the roads that are currently being graded.
Speaking after visiting the quarry site, Public Works, Transport and Infrastructure CEC Gasper Kabaka said the department is now focusing on putting murram on the roads since roads graded this way last long.
Kabaka urged residents to support initiatives being taken by the department to improve roads in the County.
He asked residents to clear bushes along the roads that have been graded.
Acting Public Works, Transport and Infrastructure Chief Officer Leonard Langat said the department will work in collaboration with other departments to utilize their lorries in ferrying the murram.
The CEC inspected the Dembwa-Kaya road.
Earlier, Kabaka and Langat inspected roads in Kasighau ward where a grader is already on site to grade the roads in the Ward.
On Monday, they inspected works along the Mzee Kilelu Manonyi road,Wanganga Manonyi road,Mnyuchi Sirienyi road, Mwakishimba Mwafunja road,Kese-Mzazala-Saghasa road and the 10km Vighombonyi- Mule –Kipusi- Shagha road that have been graded by the County Government.
