The Kenyan National Highways Authority on Monday said that its fast tracking the construction of the Garissa-Isiolo road.
KeNHA Director General Engineer Kungu Ndungu held a consultative meeting with teams from Lapsset.
Lapsset Director General, Stephen Ikua , Garissa County Governor Nathif Jama, Isiolo County lands CEC Yussuf Dahir and National Lands Commission Chairman, Gershom Otachi attended.
KeNHA said the purpose of the meeting was to deliberate on the stage construction of the road and associated spur roads to all weather standard.
Key areas discussed were; Land compensation, youth employment, and sensitization of the project to the local community.
The project connects the counties of Garissa and Isiolo linking them to the Port of Lamu and the border point of South Sudan at Nakodok.
