Deputy President William Ruto attended a church service at Jesus Winner Ministry in Roysambu.
A lonely Ruto was unaccompanied and arrived at the Church with only two cars.
Bishop Edward Mwai is the general overseer of Jesus Winner Ministry in Kenya. Mwai led the sermon and after the service at noon, he saw Ruto off.
Addressing the congregation, Ruto said Kenya is in God’s hands and that the devil has no room.
He said the devil is proud to an extent of looking for people (without mentioning names) to sponsor a bill in parliament that seeks to amend the Bible so that offerings in churches are regulated.
“What we bring to the church we do not do so for the Bishops, but for the sake of the living God who offered his only son to die so that we may have eternal life.” Ruto said.
The Deputy President said it does not matter what position one holds in the society if one forgets God.
He said if one does not look forward to eternal life, these positions are fake.
“If you are referred to as His Excellency, Bishop, or Baba and lack hope for eternal life, these titles are useless.” he said.
Ruto showcased his Biblical prowess by reciting several Bible verses including Deuteronomy 8:11, 2nd Chronicles 7: 14, Daniel 11:32 and Galatians 6:10 among others.
“We will stand firm to protect the church in Kenya. Those thinking about fighting God in Kenya will not succeed.” he said.
He added that no one should be locked out of heaven because the government is committed to translating the Bible into local languages.
“I looked for the president and told him the church has sent me to ensure we translate the Bible in all local languages,” he said.
He called on the church to continue praying for the country and assured it that God has answered their prayers.
“As a Deputy at times I wonder how God works. He has helped us fulfill a lot of development as a government. Let me confirm to you that your prayers reach to God.” Ruto said.
