Kiminini MP Chris Wamalwa has said he will work with President Uhuru to ensure the Country develops.
He spoke after he was ousted by the National Super Alliance as the Minority Deputy Whip in Parliament for allegedly supporting Deputy President William Ruto.
He has been replaced by Ford Kenyas Eseli Simiyu.
Eseli is Tongaren MP.
In a tweet, Wamalwa thanked NASA for awarding him the lucrative position in which he served for eight years.
“I thank the NASA leadership for granting me the opportunity. I will however continue to discharge my legislative duties as elected MP for Kiminini ,” he said.
Wamalwa said although it was painful, he has accepted and believes in God during this “trying moment”.
He said he believes in the words of Pope Francis that there is “Lord who cries and walks with us in times of difficulties”.
More than ten MCAs from Trans Nzoia faulted the decision by ODM to de-whip Wamalwa.
The MCAs led by Rodgers Barasa,Mercy Tanui, Bernard Aliang’ana,Carolyne Makokha said the decision was unfair.
They blamed ODM leader Raila Odinga for failing to defend the MP despite having helped him garner many votes in Trans Nzoia County in 2017.
Trans Nzoia youths also faulted ODM.
“Wamalwa is a scholar, experienced and hard-working in parliament, having been rated the best debater in the National assembly, he should have been retained as the deputy minority whip,” said Timothy Kiprop.
His sentiments were echoed by Aggrey Nalianya- a Ford Kenya diehard.
Wamalwa was first elected to parliament in 2013 and appointed the Cord Coalition Minority deputy whip.
He was re-elected in 2017 and NASA awarded him the same position in the National Assembly.
The hard-working legislature has declared he wants to vie for Trans Nzoia Governors seat in 2022.
Before joining politics, he was a lecturer at the University of Nairobi and a UN consultant.
