NASA MCAs in Kajiado County have ousted several MCA’s opposed to the handshake from plum positions in the County Assembly.
Governor Joseph Ole Lenku is a proponent of the handshake.
The Opposition MCAs voted out Minority leader Francis Kaesha (Oloosirkon Sholinke) and replaced him with Purko MCA Daniel Naikuni who was the Deputy Minority Leader.
The new Deputy Minority leader is Kaputiei North MCA Joshua Oluwuasa.
Dickson Nkaloyo ( Matapato North) retained the Minority Whip’s position with Rebecca Supeyo becoming the new Deputy Chief Whip.
The Women Caucus Vice Chairman Grace Parantai was removed and replaced with Joyce Munei.
All the new office holders are converted allies of Governor Joseph Ole Lenku with those removed accused of opposing efforts to unite the Jubilee and NASA sides in the Assembly.
The ouster bid was made immediately the Assembly resumed sittings after a month-long recess.
The Jubilee arm of the Assembly led by Majority Leader is expected to make similar changes at a time majority of MCAs from both sides have vowed to remove Speaker Johnson Osoi.
The Speaker has been accused by the MCAs of poor performance, graft and sabotaging the Jubilee Party in the County.
