Bukhayo West residents have thanked Busia Governor Sospeter Ojaamong for initiating many development projects in the ward.
Led by area Member of the County Assembly Vincent Ojiambo, the residents outlined many projects that are destined for the ward, noting that they have no words to thank the governor.
Speaking at Buringala Catholic Church in his ward during a mass attended by the Governor, Ojiambo cited the proposed Governor’s residence at Bugengi, Deputy Governor and Speaker’s residence at Mundika as major projects earmarked for Bukhayo West Ward.
“A trailer park is also planned for Mundika with Sh30 m set aside for it; the County government has constructed for us Munongo footbridge and four markets. Five mass lights will light up Buringala, Bungengi, Bukalama, Sikulu and Kuloswo,” he said.
The MCA added that they have acquired land at Bugengi for construction of another market.
Ojiambo said the County Government has set aside Sh43m for expansion of Mundika Water supply aimed at improving water supply through hybrid system.
He said they will draw up a program for the Governor to visit various projects he has initiated in the ward as a sign of appreciation for his unwavering support.
The Governor said his government will work with all leaders in the country irrespective of their political affiliations to ensure that resources are channeled to the county to benefit the residents.
“Busia is for all of us; we need to love one another to realize the socio-economic development of the county,” he said.
He added that tribalism will not bring development to Busia.
Chief Officer for Lands Maurice Odundo said there are proposals to expand Busia Municipality to include Bukhayo West.
