Bumula MP Mwambu Mabonga has launched the constituency bursary kitty for 2019.
The MP said the kitty is meant to help bright and need students.
“Any students who applied for bursaries and are in national schools must benefit. Their cheques can be picked from the CDF office. I directed my CDF Committee to make sure they get a large fraction of day school students. For university students, I will ensure applicants get in tranches until all of them benefit,” the MP said.
The MP said he is focused on ensuring there is a good learning environment in all schools in the constituency thorugh construction of modern classrooms.
He said he will empower the boda boda operators and ensure the popular Ondoa Nyasi initiatiave in Bumula succeeds.
“I will continue going out of my way to ensure my people get to enjoy their lives. The housing programme which has seen over 300 beneficiaries get decent houses will continue,” he said.
The event, held at St Jude Namanze Secondary School in Khasoko ward was graced by MCAs and their spouses.
“As spouses to MCAs, we promise to support the MP. We will ensure that we support development,” said Betty Wambulwa, wife to Kimaeti MCA Jackson Wambulwa.
Namanze Secondary School, having hosted the function received a cheque of shs 250,000 as bursaries to pay school fees for bright but needy students.
