Busia County radiologist Dr Namudala Emukule has taken over as the new Medical Superintendent at the Busia County and Referral Hospital.
He takes over from Dr David Mukabi who moves to the office of Director of Public Health and Sanitation to coordinate Universal Health Care Services.
Dr Namudala, one of the two radiologists in the county, the other being Dr Machasio of Kocholia Sub County Hospital, was deputizing Dr Mukabi before the internal departmental transfers involving 184 health workers.
The transfers are aimed at improving service delivery.
He will be deputized by County Pediatrician Dr Emma Namulala.
The massive reshuffle didn’t affect the County Director Medical services, Dr Janerose Ambuchi, Director Public Health and Sanitation Dr Melsa Lutomia, County pharmacist Dr Abiud Machuki, Administrator BCRH Benjamin Owuor and Butula Sub County MoH Dr Evans Sumbeiywo.
Dr Jimmy Wafula moves from BCRH to Kocholia Sub County Hospital, Dr Cedric Onyango from BCRH to Port Victoria as MoH and Dr Stephine Angira from Port Victoria to BCRH.
Among the pharmacists affected include Dr Paul Mburugu who moves to Port Victoria from BCRH, swapping position with Doreen Ratemo; Nelson Aluku moves to Matayos from BCRH, exchanging position with Joshua Solo.
Jacob Asoka moves to Kocholia from Sio Port, Namwaya moves to Sio Port from Port Victoria.
Four Public Health Officers were also affected in the transfers.
Martin Osotsi moves from Kocholia to Port Victoria, swapping position with Harriet Nyanusi while Betty Ochieng moves from Nambale to Matayos, exchanging position with Mildred Wanyama.
Chief Officer for Health and Sanitation Dr Isaac Omeri said the internal transfers were sanctioned in order to improve on service delivery.
He said the affected officers will take up their new positions with immediate effect.
