Governor Sospeter Ojaamong has thrown his weight behind the implementation of the Competence Based Curriculum.
This comes a day after the Kenya National Examination Council denied claims that it will examine Grade III pupils in September.
Speaking during the 2019 Dialogue on Education Quality at St Anne’s Kisoko Girls Secondary school, the Governor said his government has put in place measures to support education in the county.
“I have introduced the Governor’s scholarship which is offering full scholarships to university and college students. This is to enable them undergo specialized courses including medicine, engineering, law and other related courses,” he said.
The Governor said they have also partnered with Higher Education Loans Board to give loans to student.
He said his government has employed over 800 ECDE teachers, and urged the Teachers Service Commission to absorb all ECDE teachers.
