Uasin Gishu politician Kiprop Bundotich famously known as Buzeki has lauded the Senate for cancelling the planned purchase of National Bank of Kenya building in Eldoret by the County Government of Uasin Gishu.
He said the Senates decision has exposed the County leadership misplaced priorities.
“For instance, if the 0.6 billion was used to provide subsidized fertilizer for our Maize farmers, 240, 000 bags could have been purchased. It is important for the County leadership to carry out serious Cost Benefit Analysis on the value of the money being spend on behalf of the County residents,” he said.
The Governor aspirant said every coin should go into adding value to the resident’s lives.
He added that the Senate’s findings may be the tip of the iceberg.
“The County should use the verdict as a wakeup call and re-examine the value of the projects before they open floodgates for future petitions. We would wish to see how the leadership plans to spend the 0.6 billion, “he said.
He called on residents to be vigilant so that public resources are not looted.
