If elections are held today, Kiminini MP Chris Wamalwa will be elected the Governor of Trans Nzoia.
A simple survey conducted by Hot News shows the MP has fanatical following in the County.
Respondents told Hot News the MP has traversed the whole County and is well known among the locals.
Hot News interviewed 50 people, 10 from each of the Sub Counties of Kiminini, Saboti,Kwanza, Cherangany and Endebess.
Wamalwa received 20 votes in the interview closely followed by Devolution CS Eugene Wamalwa who received 18 votes.
Kakai Bisau who is an aide to Deputy President William Ruto got 8 votes while Moses Khaoya received 4 votes.
Chris Wamalwa has been campaigning for Governor since last year.
The elections will be held in 2022.
Eugene Wamalwa who has been rated second has not publicly declared interest in the seat.
However, his supporters want him to vie for the seat.
Khaoya who participated in last elections has started to campaign, but observers say he lacks strategy.
The Kiminini MP is credited with utilizing his CDF well.
Wamalwa has constructed modern classrooms both in Primary and Secondary schools.
He is also vocal in the National Assembly.
“I am so far the best lawmaker in the Country and therefore should be elevated to hold the office of the Governor. I will help our people,” Wamalwa said.
Wamalwa is a Ford Kenya member and if he gets the blessings of his party leader Moses Wetangula then he can easily succeed Governor Patrick Khaemba.
According to Hot News survey, women representative Janet Nangabo and DP William Ruto’s legal adviser Abraham Sing’oei did not get any votes and their names were not mentioned.
On Friday, Knut secretary General Wilson Sossion while attending a funeral in Wamalwa’s Constituency, asked area teachers to support his bid.
