A Milimani Commercial court has issued an injunction order restraining the County Government of Meru,the Inspector General of Police, the Attorney General and their servants from interfering with the operations of Baite TV.
The station is owned by Meru Women Representative Kawira Mwangaza.
Kawira moved to court after county government officials and the police forcefully entered the station last week demanding she “clears unpaid” revenue.
Kawira insists she is clean and owes nothing to the county government.
She claims to be a victim of political witch hunt by Governor Kiraitu Murungi.
Her husband and her employees were injured following skirmishes at the premises last week.
She was also injured.
The order dated June 11 2020 reads, “An order of injunction be and is hereby issued restraining the 1st,2nd respondents, it’s servants, employees, agents and or such other persons entity from entering into the applicant premises namely Baite TV station.”
The order has been issued by senior principal magistrate G.A.Mmasi.
The county government of Meru, the IG and the Attorney General have been listed as first, second and third respondents.
Mwangaza Advertiser Limited is the plaintiff
The hearing of the case will be on 25th June.
