Kiminini MP Chris Wamalwa’s bid to succeed Trans Nzoia Governor Patrick Khaemba got a boost on Sunday after Endebess MP Robert Pukose endorsed him.
Wamalwa will be battling it out with DP William Ruto’s aides Kakai Bisau and Abraham Sing’oei as well as Rift valley Regional Commissioner George Natembeya.
Pukose is a high-ranking politician from the Sabaot community who reside in Trans Nzoia County.
Addressing faithfuls in his constituency during a fundraiser that was attended by Chris Wamalwa, Pukose accused Devolution CS Eugene Wamalwa of doing nothing for Trans Nzoia people and yet he is supporting Natembeya to take over from Khaemba.
“Eugene is crisscrossing this county to campaign for Natembeya, he has been a CS for two terms, but he has failed to help the youth secure employment “said Pukose.
“As a community, we will discuss with Chris so that we can support him get the seat and help us empower our people, “said the MP.
Pukose’s statement comes after former Mt. Elgon MP Wilberforce Kisiero endorsed the MP for the county’s top job three months ago.
Last week, during the burial of an educationist at Mowlem in the same constituency, Eugene Wamalwa had asked the locals to support Natembeya for the seat.
On Saturday, Chris Wamlwa said Eugene Wamalwa is simply in government to benefit himself.
“You should reject the candidate Eugene is supporting, the CS is self-centered “said Wamalwa.
Speculation is rife that Natembeya will vie on DAP, a party associated with Eugene Wamalwa.
