No one else will be handed the Ford Kenya ticket to contest the Trans Nzoia Gubernatorial seat except MP Chris Wamalwa.
A top party official told Hot News that there will be no nominations for the Governors post in Tans Nzoia since Chris Wamalwa has been loyal to the Party.
“Wamalwa has supported the Party through thick and thin. He has stood with the Party leader during his tribulations. We need to reward him by handing him the ticket,” said the top party official who requested anonymity.
Wamalwa has been campaigning to be the Trans Nzoia Governor and wants to replace outgoing Governor Patrick Khaemba who has served two terms.
The move may cause a fall out in Ford Kenya since there are many people who are seeking the Party’s ticket.
Rift Valley regional Commissioner George Natembeya is also seeking to be the Trans Nzoia Governor.
Natembeya’s handlers said he will resign next year and plunge into politics.
All political parties in Kenya are famed for carrying out shambolic nominations.
ODM is famed for hiring “men in black” (armed goons) to disrupt nominations whenever the party’s top hierarchy led by Raila Odinga wants their favorite candidate to win.
