As the Ford Kenya party elections draw closer – the party’s youth have positioned themselves and are ready to fight it out for the position of National Youth league chairperson.
One Brian Eyase who hails from Trans Nzoia County is optimistic of clinching the seat.
Eyase said he has employed the right strategies and has intensified campaigns.
The party will hold grassroot elections across the country this month and will end up by party leader elections in June.
Eyase has so far campaigned in Kisii,Mombasa, Nairobi,Bungoma and his Trans Nzoia home County.
He is an Engineer by profession and a former JKUAT student leader.
He will battle it out with Mike Khisa,Chekai Musa,Christine Sudi and Dennis Wakoli.
“Expect a robust, zealous and abrasive Ford Kenya Youth Wing. I will have little or no mercy on those betraying the party once I take over as the National Youth Chairperson” Eyase said.
He said under his leadership, the party’s youth command is going to change the face of the party and provide the party leadership with adequate political firepower to propel it into government in 2022.
He said the Youth wing will ensure more members are elected to parliament on the party’s ticket.
Ford Kenya enjoys massive and fanatical following in Trans Nzoia and Bungoma counties.
In the party general elections, Kiminini MP Chris Wamalwa will be battling with Eseli Simiyu from the neighboring Tongaren constituency.
Eseli has been the party’s Secretary General since 2009 after shambolic elections which saw Bungoma senator Moses Wetangu’la forcefully edge out former local Government minister Musikari Kombo.
The Kiminini legislature has said he is hopeful he will win against Eseli.
Two weeks ago, Wamalwa was endorsed by the Trans Nzoia officials for the position.
In another battle, party leader Moses Wetangu’la will face Kitutu Chache MP Richard Onyonka for the position of party leader.
However, Party members want free and fair elections especially for the party leaders and secretary general positions.
