Former Saboti MP David Wafula is secretly working on taking back his seat in 2022.
Wafula who is said to be a darling of many, lost to Jonus Kuko in Jubilee nominations in 2017.
The nominations were marred with irregularities.
After word went around that Wafula will be contesting in 2022, current MP Caleb Amisi reportedly fell “sick”.
Immediate former constituency manager Luke Naibei and Hamphrey Simatwa have also joined the race.
Others who have shown interest in the position are former DCI officer Sakari Nangulu,Joseph Pepela,John Makete,Ken Simiyu,Milka Psiwa and 2017 Tuwan ward aspirant John Walubengo.
Wafula has been credited with improving education by purchasing school buses in most schools and training of the youths in various skills.
“We are happy our former MP will be in the race in 2022. We will automatically vote him in as our MP” said Joab Wakoli a resident.
When Hot News contacted Wafula to comment on the move, he said he will follow what people will tell him to do and that he is prepared.
“We are prepared for anything my brother, but we will officially announce our position at the right time, I think people are missing what we used to offer” Wafula said.
Last month, Luke Naibei said he will be battling Amisi in 2022.
Simatwa said although he is a man with little resources, he possesses a big heart with skills to transform Saboti.
Pepela who has termed himself people’s MP after he was trounced by Amisi said he will be the next Saboti MP “come rain come sunshine”.
In 2013, Wafula was elected on Eugene Wamalwa’s New Ford Kenya ticket.
Wafula is termed a down to earth millionaire with several businesses within and outside the country.
When he was MP, he avoided high-end cars and opted to use Toyota Vitz and Probox.
This endeared him to the masses.
It is said he has secretly started organizing meetings with locals in preparation for “2022 take over.”
In 2017, Walubengo campaigned on a donkey in his bid to become Tuwan MCA but lost to Bernard Wambwa.
