The gains of the political truce between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Opposition leader Raila Odinga will be in vain, if it leaves Jubilee Party split.
Kajiado Governor Joseph Ole Lenku says the HANDSHAKE was meant to fast track development especially the implementation of the Big Four Agendas.
“Achieving the Big Four Agendas is of paramount importance to the legacy of the Jubilee Government. We should not be playing politics of the next election,” said the Governor.
He said the political exchanges over 2022 election was being fuelled by a feeling of intrusion into the status quo of the Jubilee Party.
“If we politick too much, our focus on the Big Four will be lost. So we shall be gaining on one side and losing on the other. We must focus on development as the President has directed us,” Lenku said.
The handshake, the Governor reiterated, should help deliver on development and not disenfranchise some players in the Jubilee party.
“If we get split, then the overall impact of the Handshake would be diluted. We need to fully support the President on development because that is the direction he has clearly given us,” said the Governor.
The Governor was speaking today during a Sunday Service at Bishop Peter Mankura’s Dominion Chapel Ministries in Kiserian, Kajiado West.
DP William Ruto is opposed to the handshake and has taken ODM leader Raila Odinga to task to explain to the County why he agreed to work with President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Ruto has blamed Raila Odinga for ‘rocking’ the Jubilee Party and causing division in the ruling coalition.
Raila Odinga and his allies have blamed DP William Ruto for all the scams that have rocked the Country.
Riala and his allies including COTU SG Francis Atwoli are opposed to Rutos presidential bid in 2022.
On 13th April during a Lamu women’s Sacco fundraising, Atwoli sensationally claimed that DP Ruto will not be on the presidential l ballot in 2022.
Atwoli said the constitution will have been changed, Kenyans will vote peacefully, will elect a prime minister, his deputy, President and his deputy and that there will be peace.
His sentiment angered DP Rutos supporters who included MP Aisha Jumwa who told him off
