Nambale Member of Parliament John Bunyasi has revealed that he will accept any outcome of the 2022 gubernatorial contest between him and Deputy Governor Moses Mulomi.
Addressing mourners during the burial of Mzee Fred Babs Muyoti at Madende village in Nambale Sub County on Saturday, Bunyasi said he has no bad blood with his uncle Mulomi who is the current Busia Deputy Governor.
However, the race is flooded since there are other candidates.
“The election outcome should not make us engage in push and pull game. We shall work together with whoever wins,” adding that elections come and go but the interest of the county is paramount.
Mulomi who was present said they are both professionals; We consult most often, and election results cannot make us differ,” he said, pledging to work with his nephew.
He added: “As a striker and currently in position two, he is better placed to score a goal, thus the need by his nephew to give him a chance to slot the winning goal,” he said.
Mulomi urged Bunyasi to push other MPs in the National Assembly to reverse the earlier ruling that bars people who test positive of Coronavirus from seeking medication using the National Hospital Insurance Fund cover, noting that NHIF is the key factor in the process.
The DG said Corona is real with the County Government losing a top doctor and Director revenue to the pandemic, telling county residents to observe the Ministry of Health protocol.
He urged county residents in the diaspora to invest in the county to spur its economy instead of only investing in urban centers.
County Secretary, Nicodemus Mulaku said the late Muyoti was the first professional from the area, noting that no person from the region has graduated with Bachelor of Land Economics to emulate the fallen hero.
Bunyasi said 99 per cent of people who criticize the BBI report have not read it, telling them to read the document and support it.
The late Muyoti who was eulogized as soft, quiet but difficult was the husband to nominated MCA Zainabu Muyoti and father to Kakamega Homeboyz coach Nicholas Muyoti.
