20 MCAs allied to Governor Joseph Ole Lenku are plotting to impeach Kajiado Speaker Justus Enteke Ngussur over gross misconduct and impartiality in his carrying out of his duties.
In a long protest to the Assembly, the Azimio MCAs protested bitterly at the discrimination they had faced on the floor of the house and being denied time and opportunities to express their opinions.
They also castigated the involvement of the Speaker in his political party activities both inside and outside the Assembly, a complete departure from norms of House Speakers.
The MCAs threatened to remove Mr Ngussur from office citing lack of confidence in him for having failed to treat all members equally.
The new salvo by the MCAs at a Press Conference in Isinya, has been thrown at a time UDA MCAs who are the majority in the Assembly also registered their protest against the Executive saying they had been sidelined in the issuance of bursaries.
The MCAs were led by Minority leader Isaac Kiresian and Minority Whip Simon Saitoti.
Hot News has seen the protest letter which cites the following as the grounds for the impending impeachment of Mr Ngussur;
- Gross impartiality and denying Azimio MCAs time to air views/ contribute to debates on the floor.
- Attending and presiding UDA MCAs caucus meetings
- Habitually & blatantly taking sides by bringing UDA party agendas to be discussed on the floor of the house.
4.Presided a meeting of UDA MCAs on Feb 14 that plotted their walk out on the Governor as he addressed the Assembly
5.Pronounced himself to Azimio House leaders that CEC for Education will be impeached yet no motion had been tabled or discussed by the House Business Committee
- Abused powers of relevant committee and illegally gave out directions that certain sections of Standing Orders be amended to make it easier to impeach CEC Members
- Joined local cabal of political extortionists out to stall development agenda of the executive.
