A Maasai girl in Isinya,Kajiado county whose mother is mentally ill and her father currently serving a 20 year jail term is appealing for assistance to join a medical college.
Zipporah Nashipae and her brother are being hosted by a well-wisher, Sophie Brenda Wambui while their mother is still in the streets in Kajiado.
Wambui told Hot News she has tried to help Nashipae’s mother to seek medication, but she is not financially stable too.
“I met the sick woman in the streets where she is exposed to a harsh environment including sexual abuse from strangers.” Wambui said.
Wambui said she was orphaned at a tender age forcing her to be moved to a children’s home before she was finally adopted.
“This experience made me to take the initiative to help Nashipae and her brother to stay with my family.” She said.
She told Hot News she has been threatened by men who want Nashipae to shelf her college dreams and get married.
“I kindly appeal to well-wishers including our governor Joseph Ole Lenku to intervene.” She said.
In a letter seen by Hot News, Nashipai has been admitted at Thika School of Medical and Health Sciences to pursue a diploma in Counselling Psychology.
The course will cost her kshs 200,000 thousand and she was expected to report on January 5,2021.
