Cherangany MP Joshua Kuttuny has called on New KCC to pay farmers more for a litre of milk.
He regretted that the price of milk has dropped to as low as sh 15 per litre.
The MP said this is exploiting the farmer.
He said a litre of milk should be sold at sh 32.
He was Speaking on Saturday at Benon Secondary school in his constituency where he hosted the Chinese Ambassador to Kenya Wu Peng.
The MP added that although maize prices are stable, he will push the government to increase the price.
Kuttuny thanked the Chinese Government for supporting Kenya in different sectors.
He commended the Embassy for establishing and equipping an ICT center at Benon Secondary school.
He said the Cherangany CDF has allocated sh.1.5 Million towards establishment of Multipurpose Hall at the school.
Kuttuny added that the CDF has increased the number of schools in Kiptor ward from the previous one to seven.
He said plans to tarmac Benon road are complete and the construction will start soon.
Wu said his Government will continue supporting the constituency and Kenya at large.
He encouraged Kenyan students to work hard.
He said students from remote areas have an equal opportunity with those in other areas.
Wu Peng was named Kipyator, a Nandi name meaning “ a person who opens the way ” and is associated with good fortunes.
