There is greater political maturity in Western Kenya because of its political nature, a Busia Catholic Priest has revealed.
Amukura Parish Priest Fr Dunstan Epalaat said communities in the region have been together for a long time with their thoughts not centered on tribal affiliations, a replica of the Israelites who put together religious and Government institutions.
“Even if we say there is no Luhya Unity, the cosmopolitan nature of the region has watered down that notion, ” he said, and hit out at some politicians for being myopic and anti-human in practicing tribalism.
During the mass also attended by Busia Govenor Sospster Ojaamong, Fr. Epalaat singled out Germany as one of the strongest economies in the world because of its Christian values.
He said loss of political ideologies in Kenya and other African countries is the cause of our problems.
He told leaders to stop hatred campaigns, saying the one man one shilling channel for resources may exclude certain counties that are disadvantaged than others.
