Residents of Kwanza constituency have been urged to instill discipline in their children and educate them so that they are successful in future.
Kwanza UDA aspiring MP Nicholas Wamalwa said on Saturday the two qualities are key to have a bright future.
Wamalwa was addressing mourners at Lurare in Kapomboi of Kwanza constituency during the burial of Mama Mary Mukhwana Wambulwa- grandmother to his wife.
Mary was also the mother in-law to the late Vice President Michael Kijana Wamalwa.
“Our grandmother instilled discipline and was an ambassador of education, which made her educate her children to University. This should be emulated by everyone if we want to move ahead, “said the Parliamentary hopeful.
Others who attended the function are area MCA Ben Mulipuko, University lecturer David Lwangale, Cherangany UDA aspirant Vitalis Kisongochi, area MCA aspirant Ezekiel Masika among others.
Mulipuko asked residents to vote for him to win a second term in next year’s election so that he completes the projects he initiated.
Masika however said he will defeat him.
“Let us respect each other while carrying out our campaigns. For me, I will develop this area more than you have,” said Masika.
Kisongochi urged the area residents to register with UDA in large numbers saying it will form the next government.
Mama Mary,91, leaves behind more than ten children and more than 450 grandchildren.
