The Maa Community living in Nakuru will rally behind the re-election of Governor Lee Kinyanjui in 2022.
The Maa Spokesman and Kajiado Governor Joseph Ole Lenku said the community’s elders who are held highly in society will soon meet the Governor to agree on how they will rally their community behind him.
“Our elders will meet you so that you agree on how they will partner with you going forward. We are satisfied that your government has been sensitive to our community’s interests. We note your support in today’s fundraiser,” said Governor Lenku.
The two governors who are key in the Azimio La Umoja initiative by President Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga left no doubt that they would be backing Mr Odinga for the top seat in 2022.
The Governors shared a platform during a fundraiser for Namuncha Peace Secondary School which is in Nakuru County, but at the border of Kajiado,Nakuru and Narok Counties.
The fundraiser was raising funds to increase and improve the infrastructure of the mixed school which has 260 students now.
The school is a kind of safe school to protect girls from early pregnancies and young boys from getting into “out of school” moranism.
Governor Kinyanjuj said the school project was just the beginning of a milestone in education of marginalized communities and that he would fully support it.
