A team supporting Kiminini MP Chris Wamalwa’s bid for Trans Nzoia Governor has alleged that Rift Valley Regional Commissioner George Natembeya is “ill mannered”.
The team led by Ford Kenya Trans Nzoia Secretary Joseph Pepela told off George Natembeya and asked him to stop criticizing the Kiminini MP.
They said that while in Cherangany on Monday, Natembeya criticized Chris Wamalwa and accused him of attending funerals- an indication that he wants people to die.
Hitting hard at Natembeya,Pepela said Chris Wamalwa with his team attend funeral services to stand with the family, give them hope and pray for the family and at the same time being prayed for alongside the bereaved families.
Chris and Natembeya are among those who have declared they will be succeeding Governor Patrick khaemba whose constitutional term ends in August next year.
Others are Kakai Bisau and Abraham Singo’ei,Moses Khaoya, Milcah Psiwa among other candidates.
“It is common knowledge that in any funeral service, prayers are made for the departed soul, the deceased family and those in attendance including those who want to give their lives to Christ, “said Pepela in a statement.
“We advise the Regional Commissioner that politics is not about giving orders to Chiefs and their assistants “read the statement.
On Monday, Natembeya was hosted by Cherangany MP Joshua Kuttuny who gave him an opportunity to launch completed CDF projects.
Chris Wamalwa has declared that he will win the governorship “come rain or sunshine”
“I am ready to deal with anybody, anytime and anywhere” said Wamalwa.
Natembeya could not be reached for comment as his phone went unanswered.
The Kiminini MP is serving his second term after a landslide win in both 2013 and 2017 elections.
He holds a PhD in strategic management with two masters, one in strategic management and another one in leadership and management.
However, a supporter of Natembeya who requested to remain anonymous said the Regional Commissioner will beat Wamalwa in the 2022 elections.
“Wamalwa is scared. He has met his match,” the supporter said.
