Anne Kananu Mwenda was hastily sworn in as the Deputy Governor of Nairobi.
She was sworn into office 14 minutes to 2pm.
The law says one should be sworn into office between 10pm and 2pm.
The event that took place at KICC lasted less than 14 minutes.
She thanked President Uhuru Kenya and Governor Mike Sonko for enabling her to assume the office.
However, several people said the state is committing irregularities and illegalities as it pushes for Anne Kanau to be Governor.
She is set to formally take over as the City Governor next week.
Earlier in the day, the Nairobi County Assembly approved her nomination as the capital’s first female Deputy Governor.
The committee on Friday said she was cleared by KRA, EACC, had a degree and fulfilled other requirements for the job.
During her vetting on Friday, she pledged to support the NMS.
Kanau is a former Chief officer for disaster management in the City.
The vetting exercise was conducted by the Appointments committee led by Majority Leader Abdi Guyo.
Sonko was opposed to her swearing in saying he had revoked her appointment as Deputy Governor.
Several residents blamed the Judiciary for engaging in a bloodless coup in Nairobi.
This means that there ill be no bye election in Nairobi t elect a Governor.
