Chief Justice David Maraga has ordered President Uhuru Kenyatta to respect court orders and appoint 41 Judges who were recommended by the Judicial Service Commission.
An angry Maraga said he has been forced to come out publicly because he has unsuccessfully sought audience with the President.
“Respect the rule of law and comply with the constitution,” Maraga said.
He also asked the President to direct the Attorney General to take stock of all the decrees and court orders against the government and satisfy them.
Maraga said the president is undermining the rule of law.
The JSC and the Law Society of Kenya are up in arms against Uhuru and Attorney General Kihara Kariuki for not confirming the 41 judges.
Maraga said the failure to appoint the Judges has caused a backlog of cases and undermined the Judiciary.
