Nandi Senator Samson Cherarkey has requested for a statement from the Standing committee on Energy on the issue of the loss of 2.3 billion at the National oil in a fuel Racket.
He wants the committee to state the circumstance that led to diversion of fuel products and falsification of credit and delivery notes by the national officials.
The Senator also wants the Committee to state why national oil has failed to keep and provide proper records and order processing procedures thus resulting into loss of funds:
“Explain why no action has been taken on responsible staff for illegal diversion of products consignments despite being highlighted by the Auditor General thus resulting to liquidity woes facing NOCK,” he said.
Cherarkey wants an explanation on what the ministry of Energy is doing to avoid the impending assets seizure and auction of NOCK properties due to defaulted bank loans amounting to over shs 5.3 Billion.
