Busia Governor Sospeter Ojaamong has urged Education CS George Magoha to ensure that funds meant for education infrastructure are fairly distributed to all schools.
Speaking at Our Lady of Mercy Girls Secondary School in Busia during a funds drive in aid of the construction of a dormitory, Ojaamong said no region should be marginalized.
A total of shs 2.1 million was raised during the Harambee.
In January, the then education CS Amina Mohamed told Parliament that the ministry had received shs 1.5billion from Treasury and the funds will be distributed to all secondary schools for infrastructure development.
“The funds are supposed to be issued to schools, but it’s said you can access the funds; this is an -unfair way of giving out government resources,” he said.
Ojaamong said they had cultivated good relationship with Ambassador Amina Mohammed on the best way to improve schools infrastructure in Busia County.
“We hope Professor Magoha will also be accommodative like his predecessor.” he said.
The Governor thanked the teachers in the county for their excellent work despite the limited resources.
