Kiminini MP Chris Wamalwa has asked President Uhuru Kenyatta to tell Kenyans why he sacked Sports CS Rashid Echesa.
Addressing a gathering at Kitale National polytechnic, Wamalwa said chapter 35 of the Constitution gives Kenyans a right to access information and therefore Kenyans should know the reasons behind Rashid Echesa’s dismissal.
“Chapter 35 of the Constitution provides that Kenyans have a right to information and therefore should know why Echesa was sacked, if it’s because of corruption then it should apply to everyone and not the chosen few”. He said.
He said the president should stand firm in his war against corruption.
On Friday, president Uhuru named Amina Mohamed as the sports CS in a reshuffle which also saw George Magokha nominated Education CS.
Wamalwa lauded the president for picking Magoha as the Education CS.
“I salute the president for Picking Magoha, I worked with him at the University of Nairobi when he was the VC and his performance was excellent”
On the recent defeated Gender Bill, the MP who has also shown interest in Trans Nzoia Gubernatorial seat in 2022 said it is difficult for the bill to pass.
He said the two third gender Bill should be handled through the expected referendum.
“Matters election should be left to wananchi because in countries such as UK and US the women in elective positions are still minimal “said Wamalwa.
He said women who are elected in US are 21 percent while in UK only 18 percent have been elected.
Wamalwa said he has changed his mind and will not support the bill after he backed the bill for four consecutive times without success.
