Several Youths from Saboti Constituency want the ongoing KDF recruitment cancelled.
Speaking to Hot News, the youths led by Saboti Constituency Manager Luke Naibei said they have been locked out because the exercise was carried out at Kitale;s Kenyatta Stadium instead of Saboti Market.
Naibei said the residents had earlier written to the Interior and Defense Ministries requesting that the recruitment exercise be carried out at Saboti Market.
They said the two Ministries disregarded their pleas and therefore the exercise benefited youths from neighboring Kiminini and Kwanza Constituencies since they are near Kitale Town.
Last year, Saboti MP Caleb Amisi wrote to the Interior and Defense Ministries demanding the changes.
Saboti CDF manager Luke Naibei said the Interior Ministry responded positively to the letter but failed to honor their request.
The recruitment for Kenya Defense Forces in Saboti started on Tuesday at the Kenyatta stadium in Kitale.
He added that a majority of those recruited are from Kwanza and Kiminini since they can reach the recruitment venue early.
Naibei alleged that there is no objectivity in the ongoing exercise adding that those who deserve the chances have been locked out.
He called on interior CS Fred Matiang’I and his Defense counterpart Rachel Omamo to intervene and ensure the exercise is free and fair.
KDF has kicked off a Nation-Wide recruitment exercise that started on November 7th and will end on December 16th.
