At least shs 4 billion has been set aside to complete stalled projects in Busia.
Speaking at St Stephen’s Anglican Church in Busia Town, the Governor said most development projects will be completed in the next 3 months.
The Governor was presiding over a Harambee for the construction of a new church complex.
“Some people despite being clad in respected attires, are always in the forefront criticizing my administration for apparently doing nothing, yet many projects are on-going while others have been completed,” he said.
Ojaamong said the World Bank Projects implemented through the Kenya Urban Support Program including flood lights installed within Busia Municipality will promote a 24-hour economy and boost security.
“Many people think it’s only the Governor who should answer all queries pertaining to performance of all departments; that false notion should not stand the taste of time in the 21st century. Instead of yapping all the time, the doubting Thomasses should leave my officers alone to discharge their duties diligently,” he said.
He lauded the churches for their role in socio-economic development with most well managed and best performing schools and hospitals owned by churches or private individuals.
He said there is need by County and National Governments to assist such churches in improving infrastructure.
The church Arch-Deaconary Rev Dr Stephen Manya urged leaders and county residents not to oppose development.
Ang’oromo MCA James Ong’ole said Sh110million has been factored in the supplementary budget for the construction of a Mother and Baby Ward at Alupe Sub County Hospital.
He said the tarmacking of the Public Works-Alupe road will start soon and that the contractor is already onsite.
