Residents of Gombe area in Siaya Town will spend another week without power.
According to Kenya Power, their transformer broke down and it will take a week to be fixed.
West Kenya Regional Manager Sarah Wepukhulu said the mess is being fixed.
She referred us to one Owen who is in charge of the area.
“Power will be restored next week. We have ordered for a transformer from Nairobi and its yet to arrive. Once it arrives, we will fix it. However, I will communicate and let you know once its delivered,” Owen said on phone.
The residents led by Mark Agutu complained that the Utility firm was reluctant to fix the transformer.
“We have been calling them. We have pleaded with them to restore electricity but they are reluctant. Its sad that we have to go without power over a minor issue like replacing a faulty transformer,” Agutu said.
