Kiminini MP Chris Wamalwa has said former President Daniel Arap Moi paid his school fees.
Addressing his constituents at Michael Wamalwa memorial school on Tuesday, Wamalwa said the former president paid his fees after his parents could not raise cash.
He said Moi paid the fees at Friends School Kamusinga.
“My parents brew Busaa and sold it in order to raise cash. I am grateful to the former President” Wamalwa said.
Wamalwa commended Moi for handing over power in 2002.
Wamalwa toured Kaptien school, Friends school Sirende,Shimo La Tewa and Showground Primary schools where he opened CDF projects and also issued bursary cheques.
The vocal member of parliament warned teachers in his constituency against sending home students who lack fees.
Wamalwa asked the residents to support his bid to succeed Governor Patrick Khaemba in 2022.
