The Trans Nzoia County nominee for Water and Environment was vetted on Thursday.
Two weeks ago, Governor Patrick Khaemba nominated Musungu Masinde to take up the position after Maurice Lokwaliwa resigned in December.
According to the notice signed by Assembly clerk Ainea Indakwa, the nominee will be vetted by the labor committee which is chaired by Tuwan MCA Bernard Wambwa.
This comes after the Turkana community living in Trans Nzoia demanded that the new County Public Service Board consider the community in other opportunities even after their “own” Lokwaliwa resigned.
“The resignation of Lokwaliwa should not be a move to leave us out, the new Public Service Board should consider us in other public appointments” said Mark Adir, the community’s chairman.
Governor Khaemba is reportedly eagerly waiting to swear in Musungu once the Assembly approves the appointment.
